Shelby Twp. Dentist Gives Update from Haiti Mission Trip
I often have readers ask me questions about the mission trip I go on to Haiti and they want to know what we do on such trips. I thought it may be a good idea to see how God is working in the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere. This year’s Haiti mission trip I went on was sponsored through my church Faith Lutheran Church in Troy. We had seen some 180 children and adults over a 5 day span. Approximately 270 badly infected teeth were removed and around 120 teeth were filled. There was a small child that had a large neck swelling with a 103 fever that was able to be drained and have the teeth removed that were causing the infection. Praise God that our dental team was there to be available for him to save his life. We prayed over many of the patients. In addition, the rest of our team aided in the construction of a school and there were lessons in geography and the sciences given to about 300 school children.
I was also able to pass on $1440 to the pastor and his wife for the operation of the orphanage and school where we serve. This money was from our generous patients who agreed to donate the metal of old crowns that we had to replace on them. I want to personally thank them for their contributions. We accumulate these and before our trip they are scrapped and the money is put to a great use.

We would like to continue and even make this a bigger event. If you think this is a good idea ask your dentist if they would like to participate with the program. Even if you have old crowns we can take them and I guarantee that 100% of the funds go directly to orphan children and their Christian upbringing to make Haiti a better place. If interested please call the office at (586) 247-3500.
